September Updates @ Looking Glass ✨

September Updates @ Looking Glass ✨

Hey everybody!

It's Reid here with your September updates from Looking Glass! I know it comes without a day to spare, but it’s all for good reason – we’ve had quite a lot going on over here! So, strap in and let me take you through it!

🚀 Looking Glass Go 🚀

Last time we touched base, we were about to start shipping the Looking Glass Go. I’m thrilled to share that thousands of Go units have found their way into the hands of new hologram creators around the globe. And let me just say, the magic is real. ✨

Since then we…

  • Witnessed tens of thousands of new holograms created and uploaded to Blocks (our hologram sharing network).
    • Recording almost 20,000 holograms in just the first week of shipments!
  • Launched a new mobile app for the Go, allowing users to create holograms right from their phones in seconds!
  • Received an overwhelmingly warm welcome from new users embracing the Go.

The Looking Glass community's creativity is flourishing, and we're just getting started! Looking Glass Go unlocks a new world of potential for everyone to create amazing things in 3D, and we can't wait to see what the Looking Glass community will achieve.

You can stay up to date with all the latest Go news on our social media, where we’ve been sharing tutorials (starring our very own Nikki), inspiring content from the community, and much more!

(p.s. feel free to share your Go content with us on socials, too!)

🌟 Events Update 🌟

We've been busy connecting with the community and showcasing our tech – here's the recent happenings:

At the end of August, Looking Glass joined the Space Force booth at this year’s DAFITC event to discuss emerging technologies, such as our displays, and how they’re reshaping the world around us.

We recently teamed up with PowrPlnt to host a workshop led by Ellie MacQueen, where guests turned 2D art into holograms, bringing their digital designs to life on Looking Glass displays using Blender.

🗓️ Coming up:

We'll be at the Augmented Enterprise Summit from October 15-17. Come say hello and experience our latest innovations in person!

👨‍🎨 Creator Feature: Azad Balabanian 👨‍🎨

We're excited to give 3D artist and VR developer Azad Balabanian the spotlight in our latest creator feature. Azad shares a look at his creative journey, the evolving world of volumetric photography, and how Looking Glass has revolutionized the way he presents his work in stunning 3D.

Read the full interview here and learn more about Azad, volumetric filmmaking and more!

📚 Hologram University: Real World Holograms 101 📚

Our educational content series continues with  Capturing Real World Holograms for Looking Glass Displays.

This piece dives into the latest techniques for transforming real-world content into stunning holograms for Looking Glass displays.

Give it a read here!

❗️ NEW: In Depth ❗️

In the spirit of taking our educational content a step further (and having fun while doing so), we’re starting a new series perfectly named In Depth.

In Depth is a video podcast series where we take a closer look at content from our blogs, social media, and community, and discuss it all (you guessed it!) in depth!

In our inaugural episode, join Nikki and Missy as they discuss real-world hologram captures, expanding on the concepts from our blog above.

It will be available on our YouTube channel this week, and we'll be sprinkling helpful clips of it throughout our other social media channels, so be sure to follow along!

🔮 Looking Ahead 🔮

As we continue to push the boundaries of holographic displays, the launch of Looking Glass Go is just the beginning of what promises to be an incredible journey for the future of 3D.

We're glad you're here with us to explore it together, and we can't wait to see what you create!

Stay tuned for more updates, and keep sharing your amazing creations with us on social media!

 Until next time,

To the future!
