The OpenAir Collective & The Looking Glass at Marketplace of the Future

The Marketplace of the Future offers attendees a chance to peek into a future in which all organizations are working towards the betterment of both people and the planet. The one-day expo lives up to its name by showcasing 50 start-ups that place sustainability, giving back, and social well-being at the core of everything that they do.

Last month a network of volunteers known as The OpenAir Collective traveled to Marketplace of the Future to present their solution for undoing the damage that's been done to the environment.  Although their mission of removing carbon from the air is incredibly important, their DACC (Direct Air Carbon Capture) technology doesn't always get the support or attention it deserves. In order to attract more people at Marketplace of the Future, they placed a Looking Glass on their table.

The OpenAir Collective team made an animation of a DACC machine in Unity and displayed it in a Looking Glass using the HoloPlay SDK. Then they watched as people curiously stopped by, drawn in by the holographic display sitting to the right of their table.

"I was really impressed with how easy the Looking Glass was to work
with. I took a Unity project I had developed for the web and was able
to have it running on a Looking Glass in minutes."

The Looking Glass served as an immersive display solution, reaching audiences with an comprehensive yet engaging way to understand their technology. Additionally, the Looking Glass did more than make single interactions more fruitful, it drew more people in to have those conversations.

Being able to visualize demonstrations in a unique way ensures that organizations can do more than get their point across, but to do it in a meaningful way to more people.

"Lots of people came up to our booth just to ask about the Looking
Glass. Once we had them there, we were able to speak to them about our
mission, but the Looking Glass drew them in."
