#7: Holographic Woolly Mammoths (and other curiosities in the museum of the future)

Every single species that has ever lived on our tiny blue planet will soon be preserved holographically inside Looking Glasses in museums and schools around the world. The ultimate compendium of the natural world!

This is becoming real, one species at a time, thanks to the work of creators like Michael Carter who have started to bring extinct and endangered species to life in their Looking Glasses.

But this isn’t just about learning about the past. As more and more species on the edge of extinction stare out of Looking Glasses around the world, awareness of their at-risk status will grow, hopefully helping to prevent them too from going the way of the woolly mammoth and the dodo.

Next up, #8: Holographic Wildlife Observatory
*this is part of our “100 Days of Holograms” series, where Missy Senteio and Shawn Frayne of Looking Glass Factory post one new wonderful or weird (or both!) use for the Looking Glass holographic display each day.
