#17: Paint Together | VR xx Hologram

#17: Paint Together | VR xx Hologram

Last time on 100 Days of Hologram, I shared with you a YouTube video that demonstrated how easy it is to take VR artwork and display it in a Looking Glass.

Today we’re going to take it a step further. I’m going to share with you an application that allows VR users and Looking Glass users to make art together.

Maria Mishurenko and Gordey Chernyy of Synesthetic Echo created the application Finist Painter, which allows an Oculust Rift user to paint and sculpt in the same space as a Looking Glass user.

What’s really cool about this app (besides bridging Holograms and VR through a creative tool) is that it only requires one computer! The user without the headset paints with their hands, while the Finist Painter uses leap motion input to track their gestures.

The result is not only beautiful and collaborative art, but also proof that creating using holographics or VR don’t have to be mutually exclusive. To learn more about Maria and Gordey’s thoughtful process and amazing work on Finist Painter, check out this post.
